When should I seek help?

You should seek help if your wound is severe, covers a large area, or involves your face, joints, bone, tendons, or nerves.

The time it takes to heal a wound depends on the type of wound.

You can use a plastic cover to keep your wound dry when you shower.

You should keep your wound clean, moist with ointment or gel, and bandaged. You should not use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol, as these products can damage healthy cells.
